หลายคนเขื่อว่าเพลงนี้มีความหมายเกี่ยวกับยาเสพติด  เนื่องจากลักษณะเม็ดยาเสพติดบางชนิดจะมีรูปร่างคล้ายเรือ บ้างก็ว่าเป็นเพลงที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสงคราม การรบราฆ่าฟันกัน เพราะทีเรือดำน้ำเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้องด้วย แต่The Beatles ปฎิเสธความเชื่อของตนกลุ่มนี้

สมัยที่ Paul McCartney พักอยู่ที่บ้านของครอบครัว Jane Asher แฟนสาวของเขา และได้แรงบรรดาลใจให้แต่งเพลงนี้นั้น เป็นช่วงที่เขากำลังคิดหาเพลงให้ Ringo Starr มือกลองได้ร้องเพลงสักเพลง จึงได้ร่างโน้ตไว้แยะไปหมด โดยพล้อตเรื่องเกี่ยวกับเรือดำน้ำโบราณๆ กะไว้เล่าให้เด็กๆฟัง   เนื้อหาของเพลงเริ่มจากเรื่องความแตกต่างของสีสันของเรือดำน้ำซึ่งเขาย์ก็จงใจเลือกให้เป็นเรือดำน้ำสีเหลือง

เมื่อปี 1980, Lennon พูดถึงเพลงนี้ว่า  Yellow Submarine เป็นไอเดียของพอลเกือบทั้งเพลงแต่ท่อนที่ร้องว่า "Sky of blue and sea of green".นั้นเป็นของ  Donovan มี George Martin เป็นโปรดิวเซอร์ และ Geoff Emerick,เป็นซาวด์ เอนจิเนียร์ "Yellow Submarine" ต้องเล่นไม่ต่ำกว่า 5 เทคจึงจะได้บันทึกในวันที่ 26 พฤษภาคม 1966 ในสตูดิโอ Two ของ Abbey Road  จากนั้นเพิ่มสีสันให้เพลงด้วย Special Effects เมื่อ 1 มิถุนายน 1966.

Lennon เป็นคนเป่าหลอดลงไปในหม้อใส่น้ำ McCartney กับ Lennon พูดผ่านกระป๋องแคนให้เป็นเสียงคำสั่งกัปตันคุมเรือ ส่วน John Skinner และ Terry Condon ผู้ช่วย เอนจิเนียร์ของ Abbey Road  ทำหน้าที่บิดโซ่ในกระป๋องดีบุกเพื่อสร้างเสียงน้ำ วันสุดท้ายที่ทำสำเร็จ หลังจากมิกซ์เสียงเอฟเฟคต่างๆจนเป็นที่พอใจ  คือ 22 มิถุนายน 1966.

 

The Fray วง American  ร้อค แบนด์ จากเมือง Denver, รัฐโคโลราโด้  เจ้าของรางวัล Grammy Award ก่อตั้งกันเมื่อปี  2002 จากอดีตเพื่อนร่วมโรงเรียน  ทำให้ Isaac Slade และ Joe King, ร่วมกันทำอัลบั้มออกสู่ตลาดเพลงในชุด How to Save a Life ในปี  2005. และเพลงชื่อเดียวกับอัลบั้มก็นำชื่อเสียงมาสู่พวกเขา  ผลงานเพลง "How to Save a Life" ติดอันดับ Top 3 ของชาร์ตเพลง The Billboard Hot 100 และ  Top 5 Single ในประเทศคานาดา,ออสเตรเลีย, ไอร์แลนด์,สวีเดน และอังกฤษ

จากความสำเร็จครั้งนั้นทำให้เพลงของThe Fray ได้รับการยอมรับเรื่อยมาจนรางวัล The American Music Awards ตกเป็นของพวกเขาเมื่อวันที่ 23 เดือนพฤศจิกายน  2008.

You found me เป็นเพลงซิงเกิลแรกในอัลบั้มชุดที่ 2(สตูดิโอ)ที่ไร้ชื่อ แต่ไปโผล่บนเว็บไซต์ของพวกเขาเมื่อ 20 พฤศจิกายน ออกเป็นดิจิตอล ฮิตใน  iTunes Stores ของอเมิกา แคนาดา ฝรั่งเศส อังกฤษ ออสเตรเลีย และถูกเปิดตัวทางคลื่นวิทยุเมื่อกลางธันวาคม 2008 นี้เอง ในขณะนี้ผงาดขึ้นมาอยู่ในอันดับที่ 8 ของ  The Billboard Hot 100 จากการจัดอันดับเมื่อ 7 กุมภาพันธ์ 2009

ผลงานของศิลปินเพลงฮิปฮอปชาวอเมริกัน Kanye West. เป็นซิงเกิลที่สองของเขาจากอัลบั้ม  808s & Heartbreak ถูกส่งขึ้น iTunes เมื่อวันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน  2008. หลังจากเพลงล่าสุดของเขา   Love Lock Down ยังค้างอยู่ที่อันดับ 13 ของสัปดาห์นี้  (22 พฤศจิกายน 2008)


นำมาเปิดตัวครั้งแรกของปี 2008 ในคอนเสิร์ต ONE Campaign ที่ Democratic National Conventionในเมือง Denver, รัฐ Colorado ปัจจุบันเพลงนี้วิ่งขึ้นไปอยู่ที่อันดับ 4  ของการจัดอันดับชาร์ตเพลง The Billboard Hot 100 ประจำวันที่ 22 พฤศจิกายน 2008

Kanye Omari West แรปเปอร์ชาวอเมริกัน เกิดเมื่อ 8 มิถุนายน 1977 ใน แอตแลนต้า รัฐจอร์เจียร์ อายุได้ 3 ขวบเขากับแม่ Dr. Donda West ก็ย้ายไปอยู่ในชิคาโก อิลลินอยส์ จนโตที่นั่นได้เรียนที่ Columbia College Chicago, แต่ยังไม่ทันจบหันมาบ้าดนตรี ตอนนั้นเขาปั้นนักร้องในท้องถิ่น ก่อนที่จะมาร้องเองในแนวดนตรี Hip Hop/R&B  คล้ายๆสไตล์ของ Jay-Z, และพยายามลอกเลียนแบบนักร้องดังๆที่เขาชอบอีกหลายคน  โดยตั้งตัวเองเป็นโปรดิวเซอร์ด้วย แค่อัลบั้มแรก The College Dropout,  ก็ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงแกรมมี่ อวอร์ด ถึง 10 สาขา ทั้ง Album of the year และ Best Rap Album

I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008) เป็นอัลบั้มเดี่ยวอัลบั้มที่ 3 ที่มีเพลงชื่อ. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) ปล่อยคู่มากับเพลง "If I Were a Boy" ที่ฮิตติดลมไปก่อนหน้านี้แล้ว และในสัปดาห์นี้( 6 ธันวาคม 2008) ยังคงค้างอยู่ที่อันดับ 3 ของ The Billboard Hot 100

Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) เปิดตัวด้วยจังหวะที่เร่าร้อนบนคลื่นสถานี  Power 105.1ของอเมริกาเมื่อวันที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2008  เป็นเพลงอันดับ  1 ที่ iTunes  และ U.S.Top Songs เป็นเพลง Top Ringtones และTop Music Videos แค่สัปดาห์แรกก็วิ่งขึ้นมาถึงอันดับ 78 ของ The Billboard Hot 100 และในขณะนี้แซง If I Were a Boy เพลงฮิตล่าสุดของเธอเองขึ้นมาผงาดอยู่ที่อันดับ 2 จากการจัดอันดับล่าสุดเมื่อ 6 ธันวาคม 2008

ก่อนจะถึงวันนี้ แค่ 4 ขวบ Lady GaGa เล่นเปียนโนได้เองด้วยพรสวรรค์โดยไม่ต้องเรียน ย่างเข้าวัยรุ่นจึงได้หัดแต่งเพลงเอง.อายุแค่ 14 เปิดโชว์ผลงานของตัวเองได้แล้วที่ New York’s Bitter End, อายุแค่ 17 เป็น 1 ใน 20 คน ที่สามารถจบการศึกษาทางโปรแกรมของปรมาจารย์ทางด้านดนตรี Clive Davis Program ที่โรงเรียนสอนศิลปะ Tisch School ของ NYU. ใช้ชื่อว่า Lady GaGa เพราะได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากเพลงที่ชื่อว่า Radio Ga-Ga ของวง Queen.  หลังจากได้ร่วมงานกับฮิปฮอปคนดังอย่าง Akon จึงแยกตัวมาทำผลงานของตัวเอง 

ผลงานเพลงของนักร้อง นักแต่งเพลง ป้อป ร้อค สุดฮอตสาวชาวอเมริกัน  Kelly Clarkson. เป็นซิงเกิลแรกจากอัลบั้มที่ 4 (สตูดิโอ)ที่ชื่อ, All I Ever Wanted. ประพันธ์โดย Dr. Luke และ Max Martin, ผู้เคยสร้างให้เธอดังระเบิดมาแล้วจากเพลง "Since U Been Gone"ซึ่งในครั้งนี้เธอเองก็มีส่วนร่วมแต่งร่วมผลิตด้วย

ความร้อนแรงของเพลงนี้ทำให้กระโดดมาจากอันดับ 97 ของสัปดาห์ที่แล้วแทรกขึ้นมาอยู่ที่อันดับ 1 ของชาร์ตเพลง The  Billboard Hot 100 อย่างสง่างาม แต่อาจจะไม่ใช่เรื่องประหลาดนัก เพราะในวงการเพลงทำนายไว้แล้วว่าเพลงของเธอจะต้องนับ Countdown เพื่อให้มาขึ้นแท่นเป็นอันดับ TOP 10 อย่างแน่นอน และเป็น The Biggest Hits of the year เพลงทียิ่งใหญ่ในรอบปีไปในที่สุด แม้แต่วารสารที่ทรงอิทธิพลทางด้านดนตรีอย่าง Rolling Stone Magazine และ The Los Angeles Times ยังยกย่องและทำนายล่วงหน้าเอาไว้แล้ว เพลงนี้ถูกเปิดตัวไปเมื่อกลางเดือนมกราคมที่ผ่านมานี้เอง เป็นเพลงดังของ New York Top 40 Station Z100 เกือบทุกคลื่นวิทยุในนิวยอร์คกระหน่ำเปิดแต่เพลงนี้ ส่วนแผ่น MP3 เพิ่งออกวางจำหน่ายที่ Amazon.com's MP3 Store เมื่อวันที่ 16 มกราคม นี้เอง  

ทั้งยังทำลายสถิติของเพลง Womanizer ที่ Britney Spears เคยทำไว้เป็นคนสุดท้าย เพราะแค่สัปดาห์แรกที่จำหน่ายในแบบ Digital มียอดขายถึง 280,000 ดาวน์โหลด นับเป็นครั้งที่ 2 ของ Kelly Clarkson หลังจากที่เธอเคยทำมาแล้วจากซิงเกิล "A Moment Like This" ในการไต่จากอันดับ 52 ขึ้นมาอยู่อันดับ 1 เมื่อปี 2002. และทำให้เธอกลายเป็น"อเมริกัน ไอดอล"คนแรกที่มีเพลงอันดับ 1ในชาร์ต Billboard Hot 100 ถึง 2 เพลง
