The Lonely Goatherd

 


เป็นเพลงพิ้นบ้านที่นิยมร้องกันแพร่หลายในหมู่คนชนบทของชาวสวิสส์ และเป็นเพลงที่แสดงออกถึงวัฒนธรรมทางด้านดนตรีของชาวออสเตรียในแถบเทือกเขาแอลป์ จุดเด่นที่เป็นวัฒนธรม ของชาวเขาแอลป์ในเพลงนี้คือ เสียงโห่ อันเป็นสัญญลักญณ์เฉพาะที่แตกต่างไปจากเสียงโห่ ฮี โห่ ฮิ้วในบ้านเรา

เนื้อหาชองเพลงเป็นเรื่องราวของเด็กเลี้ยงแพะในแถบเทือกเชาแอลป์ที่ตกหลุมรักสาวน้อยในชุดชมพูมอๆ ในหนังเรื่องนี้นำเพลง The Lonely Goatherd มาใช้ประกอบการเชิดหุ่นมือของครอบครัวตระกูล Von Trapp และเนื้อร้องที่ว่า "High on a hill was a lonely goatherd " กลายเป็นประโยคที่ใครๆก็รู้จัก
 

The Sound of Music เคยเป็นละครเวทีบรอดเวย์ ในปี 1959  และในปี 1965  ได้สร้างเป็นภาพยนตร์เพลงที่ยิ่งใหญ่ของบรอดเวย์ กำกับโดย โรเบิร์ต ไวซ์ แสดงนำโดย Julie Andrews ประพันธ์ดนตรีโดย Richard Rodgers ประพันธ์เนื้อร้องโดย  Oscar Hammerstein II ,Book Howard Lindsay และ Russel Crouse คนเดียวกับที่เขียนเนื้อเพลง You'll never walk alone เพลงประจำสโมสรลิเวอร์พูล ที่แฟนคลับของทีมลิเวอร์พูลทุกคนต้องร้องได้ และจะร้องกันกระหึ่มเมืองทุกนัดที่ทีมของพวกเขาลงสนามแข่ง

The Sound Of Music ภาพยนตร์เพลงสุดอมตะในชื่อไทย “มนต์รักเพลงสวรรค์” ที่ออกฉายครั้งแรกในสหรัฐอเมริกา เมื่อปี1965 (พ.ศ. 2508)   โดยมีเนื้อหาตามละครเพลง บรอดเวย์ The Sound of Music ที่ออกแสดงครั้งแรกในปี พ.ศ. 2502

ละครบรอดเวย์เรื่องนี้สร้างจากหนังสือเรื่อง "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers" ของ มาเรีย ฟอน แทรปป์ ถ่ายทำกันที่เมือง Salzburg ประเทศออสเตรีย เป็นเรื่องราวของครอบครัวTrapp Family หลังจากหนีพ้นการคุกคามของนาซี ในละครมีการประพันธ์บทเพลงที่โด่งดังขึ้นมากมายหลายเพลง เช่น "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" และ "The Lonely Goatherd" รวมถึงเพลงนำเรื่องที่มีชื่อเดียวกับชื่อเรื่องด้วย คือเพลง "The Sound of Music"

ภาพยนตร์ได้รับรางวัลออสการ์ สาขาภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม และเป็นภาพยนตร์เพลงที่โด่งดังที่สุดเท่าที่เคยมีการสร้างภาพยนตร์เพลงทั้งหมด
