The Dream Weavers กลุ่มดนตรีจากไมอามี่  โดยมี 2 คู่หู Gene Adkinson และ Wade Buff. เป็นผู้ก่อตั้งวง ทั้งคู่พบกันเมื่อตอนเรียนปีที่ 2 ในระดับมัธยมปลาย

Gene Adkinson เรียนที่ Miami Edison Senior High School,และ Wade Buff เรียนที่ Coral Gables High School แต่ทั้งสองเป็นสมาชิกของวงแบนด์ 100 ชิ้นที่ชื่อ Greater Miami Boys' Drum and Bugle Corps,จึงทำให้มีความสนิมสนมกัน
หลังจบไฮสคูลแล้วทั้งคู่ไปเรียนต่อด้วยกันที่มหาวิทยาลัยฟลอริดา เมื่อปี 1955 ในเมือง Gainesville, ปีแรกที่เป็นน้องใหม่นั้น เขาจับคู่กันเข้าประกวดดนตรีชนะ จึงได้โชว์ต่อหน้านักศึกษา 5,000 คน และได้งานเล่นที่สถานีวิทยุ WRUF ครั้งละครึ่งชั่วโมง โดยเล่นอาทิตย์ละ 2 วัน และได้เอาเพลงที่เคยเล่นสมัยเมื่อ2 ปีที่แล้วมาเล่น คือเพลง "It's Almost Tomorrow" ซึ่งเพลงนี้ Buff เป็นผู้ประพันธ์ทำนอง และ Adkinson ประพันธ์ดนตรี.

Chuck Murdock,ผู้จัดรายการในตอนนั้นให้ผู้ฟังประกวดกันด้วยการตั้งชื่อวงให้กับพวกเขา ผู้ชนะเลิศในการประกวดครั้งนั้นตั้งว่า "The Dream Weavers" ซึ่งผู้ตั้งให้เหตุผลว่าเป็นเพราะเพลงของพวกเขา มีเนื้อหาชวนฝันนั่นเอง และกลายเป็นชื่อวงนี้มาโดยตลอด

"It's Almost Tomorrow" จึงได้เกิดใน Jacksonville,
ถูกเปิดทางสถานีวิทยุในไมอามี่ และได้เข้าสังกัดกับ Decca Records ซึ่งถูกตัดมาบันทึกใหม่ ในปี 1956, ได้ขึ้นถึง Top Ten ในอเมริกา และอันดับ 1 ในอังกฤษ โดยมี Buff เป็นนักร้องนำ จากนั้นก็มีผู้นำมาร้องอีกหลายคน
