Bobby Bare หรือ Robert Joseph "Bobby" Bare นักร้อง
คันทรี่ชาวอเมริกัน เกิดเมื่อวันที่  7 เมษายน 1935 ที่เมือง Ironton รัฐโอไฮโอ เขาเป็นทั้งนักร้องและนักแต่งเพลง ได้รับรางวัลแกรมมี่ สาขา Song of the Year ด้วยเพลง"Detroit City" ในปี 1963


ก่อนที่จะประสบความสำเร็จเขาเคยล้มเหลวมาก่อน ผลงานเพลงของเขาชายไม่ออก ตอนนั้นเป็นปี  1950 จนเมื่อ Chet Atkins  จับเขามาร้องในสไตล์เพลงคันทรี่  แค่เพลงแรกเท่านั้นยอดขายสูงเฉียดๆล้านก้อปปี้ส์ ในปี1962.

จนถึงปี 1963 เพลง "500 Miles Away From Home" ของเขาก็ดังกระหึ่มเมือง ขึ้นถึงอันดับ TOP 10  และตั้งแต่นั้นมาไม่มีใครไม่รู้จักเขา งานเพลงของ Bobby Bare เป็นที่ยอมรับของคอเพลงคันทรี่ในยุคนั้น

เนื้อหาของเพลงนี้เขาเล่าว่าจากบ้านมาไกล 500 ไมล์จนแม่โน้ตมาหาบอกว่าคิดถึงลูกนะ กลับบ้านเถอะ
