Jason DeRulo เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 21 กันยายน 1988 ปัจจุบันอายุ 20 เป็นทั้งนักร้องและนักแต่งเพลง ปัจจุบันสังกัด Warner Bros. เคยร่มงานกับศิลปินดังๆมาแล้วมากมาย อย่าง  Lil Wayne, Cassie, Kat DeLuna, Birdman, Donnie Klang,และ 7 Aurelius. การศึกษา เขาเรียนทางด้านดนตรีในนิวยอร์ค จบมาจากโรงเรียนสอนการแสดง The New York  American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). หลังจากส่งผลงานซิงเกิลที่ชื่อ "Whatcha Say" ติดชาร์ตบิลบอร์ดไปแล้ว ซึ่งในปัจจุบันยังติดอยู่ในลำดับที่ 31 จากการจัดอันดับประจำวันที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ 2010  ณ วันนี้เขามีผลงานออกมาใหม่เป็นซิงเกิลที่ 2 ที่ชื่อ "In My Head" ซึ่งวางจำหน่ายในอเมริกาไปเมื่อวันที่  8 ธันวาคม 2009, และในอังกฤษเมื่อวันที่  22 กุมภาพันธ์ 2010 ที่ผ่านมานี้เอง เป็นเพลงที่ถูกขอให้เปิดบ่อยที่สุดในเดือนมกราคมของชาร์ตเพลง Canadian airplay   หลังจากไต่มาอยู่อันดับ 63 เมื่อวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2009 และได้กลายเป็นผลงานขิ้นที่ 2 ของเขาที่ขึ้นไปถึง TOP 10  จากการจัดอันดับประจำวันที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ 2010  เพลงนี้เป็นเพลงในอันดับ 9 ของ The Billboard Hot 100 และ ติดอันดับ Top 5 single in Canada เมื่อกลายเป็นเพลงอันดับ 5 ของ Canadian Hot 100
