อาวริล ลาวีญ เด็กสาวพังค์ร็อค ชาวแคนาเดียน โด่งดังในช่วงถดูร้อน ปี พ . ศ . 2545 ด้วยอายุ 16 ปี ความฝันทางด้านดนตรีของเธอก็เป็นจริงขึ้นเมาเมื่อเธอเปิดตัวด้วยเพลงอันบาดหูและมันส์ซะใจที่ชื่อ Complicated  ซึ่งได้ปรับเปลี่ยนดนตรีแนวป็อป มิวสิค ไปยังทิศทางที่แตกต่างและแปลกใหม่ ซิงเกิ้ลสุดฮอตของเธอนี้เป็นอัลบั้มแรกของเธอที่ชื่อ Let Go  ได้เขย่าทุกท็อปชาร์ททั่วโลก และทำให้เธอได้รับการขนานนามว่าเป็น  “ เจ้าหญิงแห่งดนตรีพั้งค์ร็อค” ด้วยเสียง ความสามารถ อันน่าทึ่งในการแต่งเพลงเองและร้องเอง ประกอบกับความเชื่อมั่นและความแน่วแน่ต่อจุดหมายทางดนตรีของเธอ อาวริลเปิดตัวบนถนนสายดนตรีด้วยวัยเพียง 17 ปี และได้รักษาระดับความแรงจนฉุดไม่อยู่ อีกทั้งเธอยังได้รับรางวัลทางดนตรีมากมาย เช่น MTV Awards ,Juno Awards World Music Awards,Radio Music Awards นอกจากนี้ เธอยังได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัลแกรมมี่ ถึง 8 รางวัล ในปี พ. ศ. 2545 สาวน้อยชาวแคนาเดียน ขวัญใจขาร็อคผู้นี้ ยังได้รับการยอมรับว่า การแสดงดนตรีสดบนเวทีของเธอนั้น เธอทำได้อย่างยอดเยี่ยมและเป็นที่โดนใจบรรดาขาร็อคทั้งหลาย วันนี้ Avril  LAVIGNE กลับมาพร้อมกับ อัลบั้มที่ 3 The Best Damn Thing และตัดเป็นซิงเกิลแรกของอัลบั้มออกมาชื่อเพลง girlfriend   มาแรงแซงโค้งขึ้นสู่บิลบอร์ด ชาร์ท ในอันดับที่ 5 (17 มีนาคม 2550)
