เพลงเพื่อชีวิตเพลงนี้สื่อถึงสันติภาพ สงตราม และอิสระภาพ  มนุษย์เราจะต้องทำอะไรผิดแล้วผิดอีกซักกี่ครั้ง เราถึงจะเริ่มรู้ตัว เหมือนอย่างเพลงที่ว่า how many ears must one man have  คนเราจะต้องมีหูซักกี่หู before he can hear people cry? จึงจะสามารถได้ยินเสียงร้องไห้ของผู้คน how many deaths will it take till he knows จะต้องมีคนตายอีกซักกี่คน แล้วคุณถึงจะรู้ว่า คนตายพอหรือยัง   how many cannonballs fly  ปืนใหญ่ต้องยิงอีกกี่ลูกถึงจะหยุดยิง the answer, my friends, คำตอบคือ is blowin’ in the wind ล่องลอยในสายลม ก็เหมือนกับเป่าลม และกระจายหายไป  สำหรับบางคนแล้ว “Blowin’ in the Wind” จึงเป็นมากกว่าเพลง   Blowin' in the Wind   ผลงานการประพันธ์ของ  Bob Dylan ในปี 1962 ออกวางจำหน่ายในอัลบั้ม  The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan .เมื่อปี 1963. ในปี 1999 เพลงนี้ก็ได้รับการจัดเข้าทำเนียบหอเกียรติยศของแกรมมี่ The Grammy Hall of Fame.ต่อมาในปี 2004, วารสาร Rolling Stone magazine จัดให้เพลงนี้เป็นเพลงในลำดับที่ 14 ของ 500 เพลงที่ยิ่งใหญ่ตลอดกาล  " The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".   วารสาร TIME จัดอันดับให้ Bob Dylan เป็น 1 ใน 100 ของผู้มีอิทธิพลในศตวรรษที่ 20 และเขายังออกแสดงคอนเสิร์ทเรื่อยมาจนปัจจุบัน   Bob Dylan November 2005.   Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman )เกิดเมื่อ 24 พฤษภาคม 1941 เขาเป็นคนอเมริกัน ที่มากความสามารถ เป็นทั้งนักร้อง นักแต่งเพลง นักแสดง นักดนตรี และเป็นกวี  ผลงานของเขาเป็นที่เลื่องลือไปทั้งในอเมริกาและอังกฤษ ตั้งแต่ปี 1960   ปี 1963 บ๊อบ ดีแลน ออกอัลบั้ม The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan ซึ่งมีเพลง Blowin' in the Wind รวมอยู่ด้วย จากคำบอกเล่าของ David Blue เพลง “Blowin’ in the Wind” ของบ็อบ ดีแลนเพลงนี้ ถือกำเนิดขึ้นมาระหว่างการดื่มกาแฟฆ่าเวลา ในบ่ายวันหนึ่ง ของเดือนเมษายน ปี 1962 ที่คลับชื่อ The Commons ซึ่งต่อมาเปลี่ยนเป็น The Fat Black Pussycat ที่กรีนิชวิลเลจ ในนิวยอร์กซิตี          หลังจากที่เขียนเพลงเสร็จ ดีแลนกับเพื่อนก็นำเพลงที่เพิ่งเขียนเสร็จสดๆ ร้อนๆ ไปยัง Gerde’s Folk City ที่อยู่ไม่ไกลกันนัก และคืนนั้น Gil Turner ก็ได้เล่นเพลง “Blowin’ in the Wind” เป็นครั้งแรก โดยมีดีแลนยืนพิงบาร์ยิ้มปลื้มในผลงาน นับจากวันนั้น “Blowin’ in the Wind” ก็เป็นรู้จักอย่างแพร่หลาย                จากกลุ่มเล็กเป็นกลุ่มใหญ่ และขยายวงมากขึ้นเมื่อมีการออกซิงเกิลเพลงนี้ และตามด้วยอัลบั้ม The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan ในปี 1963         เป็นที่ทราบกันว่า เมโลดี ของ “Blowin’ in the Wind” นี้ ดีแลนได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากเพลง “No More Auction Block” ซึ่งเขาได้นำการแสดงสดในปี 1962 บรรจุไว้ในอัลบั้ม The Bootleg Series          ข้อมูลบางแหล่งระบุว่า เพลงโฟล์ก “No More Auction Block” นี้ รู้จักกันในอีกชื่อหนึ่งว่า “Many Thousands Gone” ซึ่งถือกำเนิดในแคนาดา ครั้งอังกฤษเลิกทาสที่นั่นในปี 1833 โดยเพลงนี้เป็นเพลงหนึ่งที่สะท้อนถึงความฝันในเสรีภาพของบรรดาทาสผิวดำ  ในยุคซิกซ์ตีส์ เพลง “Blowin’ in the Wind” นับเป็นเพลงรุ่นแรกๆ ที่ถูกนำมาใช้ในการต่อต้านสงคราม เพรียกหาสันติภาพและสิทธิพลเมือง ซึ่งก็ยังคงได้รับความนิยมต่อเนื่องมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้   แม้แต่รายงานข่าวสถานการณ์ในภาคใต้ของไทยยังเคยมีการนำเพลงนี้มาใช้   ปีนี้ บ็อบ ดีแลน อายุ 65 แล้ว แต่ยังคงแข็งแรง และเดินสายเล่นดนตรีอย่างต่อเนื่อง ล่าสุด เขาได้เขียนหนังสืออัตชีวประวัติออกมา เล่มแรกในชุดนี้คือ “Chronicles, Vol. 1” ซึ่งก็ได้รับการต้อนรับจากแฟนๆ อย่างอบอุ่น ผู้ที่ขี้เกียจอ่านเขาก็มี audio book ให้ฟัง ทั้งในรูปของซีดีและคาสเซตต์เทป โดยผู้ที่ให้เสียงคือดาราหนุ่ม Sean Penn      Blowin' In the Wind Bob Dylan Tuning: Standard (E A D G B e ) Capo: 2nd fret Chords: (relative to 2nd fret) C: x30210 F: x32211 G: 320003 C                    F               G            C                          F          C How many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man?
