หลังจากที่เธอเคยส่งเพลง I Kissed a Girl"  ซิงเกิลแรกจากอัลบั้ม One of the Boys.ขึ้นอันดับ 1 ของชาร์ทบิลบอร์ดไปเมื่อเดือนเมษายนที่ผ่านมา บัดนี้ Hot N Cold ของเธอกำลังไต่ชาร์ทตามมาอีเพลง โดยไต่มาจากอันดับ 12 เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว และในขณะนี้ขึ้นมาถึงอันดับ 9 ของ The Billboard Hot 100   เมื่อ 4 ตุลาคม 2008

Katy Perry เกิดที่  Santa Barbara, แคลิฟอร์เนีย สหรัฐอเมริกา หลังจากมีประสบการณ์จากการร้องเพลงในโบสถ์มาตั้งแต่เด็ก ก็ได้มีโอกาสออก CD แผ่นแรกในชีวิตเป็นเพลงของคริสเตียน เมื่อปี  2001 โดยใช้ชื่อว่า Katy Hudson

อายุ 17  Perry เริ่มงานผลิตเพลง และแต่งเพลงจนมีผลงานทางรายการทีวี และภาพยนตร์อีกด้วย
